Emergency Alert is a mobile application for Android and BlackBerry Java and BlackBerry 10 platforms.
You can create rules which trigger alerts based on certain criteria – for example, you might want to set up a rule from a certain email address, or containing certain text in the subject field.
The app audio alerts even work when your phone is on silent, ensuring you respond to urgent matters as soon as your device receives them.
Emergency Alert is available on:
- Legacy BlackBerry devices (4.5-7.1)
- BlackBerry 10
- Android 2.3 and above
After installation, please ensure you allow the app permissions for each platform (where required) – if you do not, the application will not function as expected.
BlackBerry 10 Permissions |
For the app to function correctly on BlackBerry 10, the following permissions are required (as of v2.8 of the app, running on a 10.3 device)
|
|
To enable these permissions after installation, please launch the Settings app, then go to Security and Privacy >> Application Permissions screen, then tap Emergency Alert and ensure the permissions are set to “On”.
The features vary depending on the platform – please ensure you check out the respective app stores to see what features are available.

I hope this message finds you well. I recently came across your mobile application: Emergency Alert and I’m quite intrigued by its potential for communication within a defined and closed group.
I’m particularly interested in the feature of group voice alerts with the ability to override silent mode for all group members. This capability is of great interest to me for specific communication needs.
I would appreciate it if you could provide me with more information about this feature and its functionality within the app. I’m keen to understand if your application aligns with my requirements and whether it could be a suitable solution for my communication needs.
Your insights and assistance in clarifying this matter would be greatly valued. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Thank you and best regards,
Nima
Hi Nima, the app could work, you would need to set up & install the app on each device to alert based on when whatever app you use for group voice calls shows a notification. Unfortunately there is no way to centrally manage the config however, as this would require the app to have the internet permission, which I’ve always avoided due privacy concerns as the app works by analysing all your device notifications.
