Enable/disable a rule

To enable or disable an individual rule, please follow the steps below: On the Rules Screen, tap the rule you want to enable or disable. Disable Emergency Alert

If you want to disable Emergency Alert so that no rules are processed when you receive notifications, you can do this by following the steps below: Go to the Settings Screen within the app and toggle “Notification Listener” into the OFF position. This will stop Emergency Alert from scanning any notifications received on your device, and stop all alerts from being triggered. Please note: Don’t forget to turn it back on when you want to resume!

Setting a global volume

If you wish to override each rule’s volume control and have the same volume across all rules, you can do this by setting a global volume. To do this, go to the Settings Screen > Use Global Volume Turn on the toggle, and then select a volume for all rules: Please note: While this is enabled, if you edit a rule with “Play Audio” enabled, you will see a warning that the Global Volume is enabled in settings, and the volume slider will be disabled until Global Volume is disabled again:

Welcome Screen

Delete a rule

To delete a rule, first select the rule you wish to delete to view its settings. From the top right action bar, tap “Delete”. You will then be prompted if you are sure you want to delete the rule. Tap OK to delete the rule, and you will be returned to the main rule list:

Adding and setting up a rule

The steps below will cover creating an example rule. Each section covers a Rule Editor section in Emergency Alert. For this example, we are setting up a rule so that messages received from “Boss” that start with the words “URGENT” trigger an alert. To get started adding a rule, open Emergency Alert and press the “+” button from the bottom right. Name The rule requires a name in order to be identified. It does not need to be unique, but it should be descriptive as to what the rule will alert for. In this example, the rule name is set...

Installation

Pre-requisites The Emergency Alerts application requires at least Android v6.0 (Marshmellow) in order to run. In addition there are a number of permissions required in order to make the app function. A full list of these permissions is available here. Download & Install The application can be installed from the Google Play Store, by either searching for “Emergency Alert”, or clicking the link below.

Save a rule

To save a rule, from within the rule editor, on the top left action bar, tap the “Back” arrow symbol. If there are any changes to be saved, you will then be prompted to save, discard the changes or cancel. Tap “Yes” to save the rule, and you will be returned to the main rule list.
